Runa Laila gets emotional with mothers in old age home

Runa Laila, the legendary musician, and composer of the subcontinent, has rarely faced such an emotional time in her long musical life while spending time with mothers in an old age home.

She went to ‘Apan Bhuban’ old age home at Uttara on Saturday morning to spend time with the mothers there. Runa Laila went there on her own initiative after listening to the mothers. Several years ago, some like-minded people established the charity organisation ‘Apan Bhuban Bridhaashram’. Runa Laila came to know about this institution from her brother Murad.

After suddenly reaching ‘Apan Bhuban’ everyone recognises Runa Laila and they were very happy to see her. Runa Laila spent a long time with those mothers and talked with them. At the request of the mothers, Runa Laila also sang.

Runa Laila never had such a moment in her life. Runa herself was trying to find her departed mother among those mothers. She was getting emotional again and again.

Runa Laila said, “My sincere thanks to those who established this wonderful place with their honesty and hard work. Society is so beautiful because there are still such people. But the problem is that mothers from the age of 100 years and even younger are here. What kind of children are those who send their mothers to old age homes! It’s very inhumane. But they are indeed good here. They repeatedly asked when I would come here again. I took sarees, flowers, fruits, and other gifts for the mothers. They are very happy and my heart is full. I feel like I spent time with my mother. I humbly request everyone to stand by these old age homes”.

Runa Laila said that anyone can support the old mothers by sending money directly to Bikash Merchant 01886107109 and Nagad Merchant 01838641917.
