30 new bands join CMBA

Chittagong, known as the city of band music, has created new opportunities for young bands through the Chittagong Musical Band Association (CMBA). The CMBA recently organised a registration programme at a convention center in Chittagong where 30 new and old bands were registered. The registration programme was followed by a discussion and an iftar party where the leaders of the CMBA discussed their future plans.

The leaders of the CMBA, including CMB President Samar Barua, General Secretary and member of popular band Feedback Raihan Al Hasan, and executive members, expressed their vision of making the organisation stronger and more vibrant during the event. Shahadat Shahed, the organising secretary, emphasized the need to focus more on original songs to make CMBA more dynamic and fruitful.

CMBA Joint General Secretary Kaiser Javed said, “We have big plans for the upcoming Rockfest. Apart from Rockfest, the dedicated members of CMBA are taking preparations to give some more surprises”.

The registration process has been completed for the following 30 bands: Stone, Soft Touch, Khuti, Band No 16/71, Itihash, Warning, The Last Mark, Liners, The Vibrations, Rock n Train, Jolrong, Artanad, Warriors, Violent Machine, Ontohin, Nexus, Prism, YSB, Rock-Not, Rong Pencil, Chuti, Ushnata, Melody of Six Strings, Off Touch, Bonsai, Bellicose, The Imashan, Fanush, Bandar, and Amateur.

In addition to the registration process, the CMBA signed MoUs with various organisations, including Techno Pro, Sound King, Protissruti, Capture Wing, Matra, and Milton Decorators. Guitar Hall owner Md. Ika also announced special discounts for CMBA-registered bands.

The Chittagong band music legend Jacob Dias was also present at the event, and each representative of the bands present expressed their thoughts and expectations during the open discussion phase of the event. The president and general secretary of the organization wished all-around success for the band music of Chittagong as a unique example of mutual friendship and brotherhood.

The CMBA is expected to play an active role in promoting band music in Chittagong, which is well-known as the birthplace of band music. According to the CMBA, after almost five years, the new bands have joined the organization. The success of the Jai Bangla concert, where 14 bands from Chittagong performed their original songs, was the inspiration for the reorganization of the CMBA.
