The second solo art exhibition of Tamima Sultana, titled ‘Prachya & Duelmonism’ is now underway at Kalakendra in the capital.
Inaugurated on April 28, the exhibition is inspired by Salim Al Din’s drama ‘Prachya’ and his art theory ‘Duelmonism’.
Artists Abul Barq Alvi and Nisar Hossain were present as guests of honour at the opening ceremony, which took place on Friday at 5:00 pm
Director Nasir Uddin Yusuf Bacchu, and actor and director Afzal Hossain curated the exhibition.
All the paintings in the exhibition are the result of the Duelmonism theory. According to the artist, she focused on painting during the Corona period and completed the work in continuous pursuit for the next two years.
Tamima also expressed her hope that the new generation of artists will also show interest in this genre of painting and open more new horizons in art.
The exhibition has been organised by Dhaka Theatre, while Bangladesh Gram Theatre is also associated with the event.
Artist Tamima Sultana completed her master’s degree in 2012 from the Institute of Fine Arts of Chittagong University. In 2011, she was also awarded as the best painter of her institute. Tamima won a gold medal at the National Education Week in 2000.
