‘If I do something special, someone will celebrate’

Today is the birthday of popular actor, producer and freedom fighter Tariq Anam Khan.

Born in 1953, Tariq has never had any extra fuss about his birthday and passes the day as normally as any other day of the year.

“I always feel that if I do something special, someone else will celebrate my birthday. Today will be like any other day. I will leave the house, I have some work to do. But on my birthday, I just want to say that I wish everyone to stay well and wish to work on better story,” said Tariq Anam.

Tariq Anam Khan has a long list of achievements. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award-2014 for Best Actor in negative role in the movie “Desha: The Leader”. He also got the Critics Choice Awards in 15th Meril Prothom Alo Awards 2013 for the movie “Ghetuputra Kamola”.

Tariq Anam Khan recently went to the 45th Moscow Film Festival. The festival featured the global debut of the Nurul Alam Atique’s ‘Peyarar Subash’ which starred him. The process of releasing the movie in the country is currently underway. Jaya Ahsan played the lead role in the film. One of his films ‘Gangchil’, directed by Noyeem Imtiaz Neamul, also awaits release.

Tariq Anam Khan also won the hearts of the audience by directing stage plays. Last in 2016, he directed two dramas ‘Bonduk Juddho’ and ‘Gadhar Hat’. His team’s last production was ‘Punyah’ directed by Yusuf Hasan Ork. He has also given lectures as a guest teacher for the establishment of drama department in Dhaka University and Jahangir Nagar University.
