‘Rise and Shine’ at Shilpakala Academy

Theatre troupe BotTala is going to stage its 16th production titled ‘Rise and Shine’ today at 7:00pm at Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, in the capital.

Muhammad Sayeed directed the play, which was originally written by Dario Luigi Angelo Fo and his wife Franca Rame. Eminent academic, writer and translator Abdus Selim translated the play into Bangla.

The original play was about a female factory worker and the play of the ‘Rise and Shine’ also revolves around the struggles of a young female factory worker. Kazi Roksana Ruma will play the lead character in this play.

Rise and Shine starts with a female garment worker awakening from a nightmare while gripping the finger she dreamt had been pierced by a sewing machine needle.
