Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy will stage the famous play ‘Hamlet’ at 7:00pm today in the main auditorium of the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
The play ‘Hamlet’ was originally written by William Shakespeare. The play has been translated and adapted by the late writer Syed Shamsul Haque, and directed by director Ataur Rahman.
‘Hamlet’ is a play that undertakes a profound exploration of moral dilemmas, it is also an audacious and comic tragedy with the themes of murder, distrust, clandestine affairs, palace conspiracy and revenge. Set in the Danish kingdom, the play dramatises the revenge Prince Hamlet is instructed to enact on his uncle Claudius. Claudius murdered his own brother, Hamlet’s father, King Hamlet, and subsequently seized the throne, marrying his deceased brother’s widow, Hamlet’s mother Gertrude.
The tickets are available for Tk 100, Tk 200, Tk 300, and Tk 500 based on seating arrangement.
