25th National Art Exhibition to showcase best Bangladeshi Arts

The 25th National Art Exhibition 2023 will be held from May 28 to July 15 at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The exhibition will remain open daily from 11am to 8pm, and on Fridays from 3pm to 8pm.

The exhibition will feature a wide variety of art forms, including paintings, prints, photographs, sculptures, ceramics, pottery, crafts, graphic design, installation art, new media art, and performance art.

A total of 2,914 artworks were submitted by 1,138 artists of Bangladesh aged above 21 years as per the exhibition policy. After a three-day scrutiny, the members of the Artwork Selection Committee Ahmed Samsuddoha, Saidul Haque Juis, Kanak Champa Chakma, Moklesur Rahman, Mahbub Jamal Shamim and Mofizul Islam selected a total of 301 artworks from 261 artists for the exhibition.

Among these works, 96 paintings, 39 prints, 22 photographs, 60 sculptures, 4 ceramics, 6 pottery, 10 crafts, 7 graphic designs, 38 installation art, 11 new media art and 3 performance arts were selected.

The 25th National Art Exhibition is being organised by the Fine Arts Department of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. The exhibition is a major event in Bangladeshi art calendar and attracts visitors from all over the country.

The exhibition will be judged by a panel of experts, and a total of 11 best awards will be given, one in each medium. The best artwork in all mediums will be awarded as the “Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Award 2023” and the artist will receive a sum of Tk 2,00,000, a gold medal, a crest and a certificate.
