‘Birthday like any other day for me’

Celebrated Bangladeshi actor Chanchal Chowdhury marks another year of his life today, amidst a demanding schedule. Despite his commitments, the talented actor has expressed his unwavering dedication to his craft, currently engrossed in shooting an advertisement set in Dhaka.

Reflecting on his birthday, Chanchal shared his perspective, stating, “I believe that human actions hold great significance. Birthdays are like any other day for me throughout the year. The day will proceed as usual. However, I must admit that I am not in the best mental state, particularly since my father’s passing. There’s hardly any time to dwell on personal celebrations.”

Having recently completed his work in Srijit Mukherji’s biopic of legendary director Mrinal Sen –“Padatik”, where he portrayed the character of Mrinal, Chanchal Chowdhury has been actively engaged in his artistic pursuits.

Chanchal brings his exceptional talent and charisma to the forefront, portraying the main protagonist in Giasuddin Selim’s “Paap Punno.” The film will have its screening at the 24th edition of the Rainbow International Film Festival on June 3 at the Kenneth More Theatre in Ilford, London.

Recently Chanchal along with Shaon covered Gazi Mazharul Anwar written and Satya Saha composed popular song ‘Dhaka Shahar Aisha Amar Asha Furaichhe’ which was released on YouTube. The song pays homage to the original artists Shammi Akhtar and Khandakar Faruk Ahmed.

Tragically, Chanchal Chowdhury’s father, Radha Gobinda Chowdhury, passed away on December 27, 2022. His demise sent shockwaves through Chanchal’s family and the entire cultural sphere, prompting a period of mourning.

Moreover, Chanchal Chowdhury’s exceptional achievements were recognised when he represented Bangladesh at the prestigious Kolkata International Film Festival. Notably, he was honored alongside renowned artists such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, and Rani Mukherjee. This momentous occasion showcased Bangladesh’s remarkable contribution to the world of cinema.

In his latest venture, Chanchal Chowdhury is starring in the drama serial ‘Shonda Panda’ directed by Salah Uddin Lovelu, which is currently airing on Channel i.
