‘Mike’ gets uncut censor certificate

The government-funded children’s film ‘Mike,” directed by FM Shahin, finally received its uncut censor certificate on Tuesday. The film revolves around the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

FM Shahin, along with Hasan Jafrul, jointly directed the movie, with Shahin also serving as the producer. The film’s cast includes renowned actors such as Tariq Anam Khan, Nader Chowdhury, Ferdous, Tanvin Sweety, Jhuna Chowdhury, and Iqbal Ahmed, among others.

In a social media post, actor Ferdous congratulated FM Shahin and the entire team of “Mike” on the news of the release of the film. Ferdous stated, “Congratulations FM Shahin and the entire team of ‘Mike.’ I am really happy that our government-granted children’s film will soon be released in theatres.”

Earlier, a special screening of “Mike” was held on March 28 at the TSC auditorium of Dhaka University. The event was attended by notable figures, including Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of Dhaka University Professor Dr Muhammad Samad, Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary MP, Secretary to the Liberation Affairs Ministry Khaja Mia, Sammilita Sangskritik Jote President Golam Kuddus, as well as the cast and crew of the film.

On February 15, the makers of the film seeks Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s intervention to recover footage of the government-funded full-length children’s film ‘Mike’ through a press conference held at Sagar-Runi Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity.
