Samantha busy for ‘Citadel’ shooting

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is now in Serbia completing shoot for her web series “Citadel” with Varun Dhawan.

According to India Today, the actress will reportedly start work on her Hollywood project next “Chennai Story”.

The team is apparently in Serbia now wrapping up the shoot and once the Shaakuntalam actress is back in India, she will start working on her Hollywood film. The movie is titled Chennai Story and is a romantic comedy starring Samantha and Vivek Kalra. This is Samantha’s first English feature film. It is expected to release in English and Tamil.

“Chennai Story” tells the tale of a South Asian Welshman, Nikhil (Vivek Kalra), who travels to Chennai to find his estranged father. In Chennai, he meets Anu (Samantha), who hails from a conservative family. She is a street-smart detective and he hires her to help look for his father. This movie talks about the cultural differences between them, how they are attracted to each other but come from two different worlds. The movie will be shot in Chennai and in the UK.

This movie is being directed by BAFTA winner Philip John (Downton Abbey) and written by Nimmi Harasgama and Philip John. It is based on the novel The Arrangements of Love by Timeri N Murari.
