Nipun acting in Zahid Hossain’s ‘Azaan’

‘Matritto’ (motherhood) famed director Zahid Hossain has now produced a new film titled ‘Azaan’. The talented director cast Nipun Akter as the lead role for the film.

The story of the film ‘Azaan’ highlighted the impact on the socio-economic and political situation in response to the killing of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family in 1975.

Nipun acted well under the direction of Zahid Hussain. Director Zahid Hossain said, “Nipun is a talented actress who has won the National Film Award. Nipun played a very challenging character. Nipun did a great job getting into the character. Because of this, I have become more optimistic about the movie. Our whole team is actually waiting for the release of the movie now. For now, the name of the movie is ‘Azaan’, but its name may change.”

The shooting of the movie ‘Azaan’ was completed in various locations of Kaliganj from April 25 to May 8.

Zahid Hossain said that the story of the film ‘Azaan’ is about time from the days after the brutal killing of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family on August 15, 1975, to Sheikh Hasina’s return to home in 1981. This full-length film is produced under the banner of Revolution Movies International and Shishir Kathachitra.

Besides Nipun, the film also stars Imtiaz Barshon, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Nader Chowdhury, Kaniz Subarna, Prapti, Jesmin, Shaon Ashraf, Sajjad, Jibon, Jakir, Jalil, and others.

Besides ‘Matritto’, Zahid Hossain has also produced ‘Jibonjantrana’, ‘Sonar Char’, and ‘Suvarnabhumi’. Soon he is going to produce the movies ‘Hur’, ‘Antarbas’, and ‘Granthponka’.

Meanwhile, Nipun is performing her duties as the General Secretary of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association.
