Dolly Parton makes history with 3 new Guinness World Records

Dolly Parton, the legendary country star, has added three more Guinness World Records to her already impressive collection, further cementing her status as an iconic figure in the music industry. In a recent ceremony held in Nashville, Tennessee, Parton was recognized by the international record keeper for her remarkable achievements, which she graciously accepted, according to CBS News.

One of the records she broke is for having the longest span of No. 1 hits on the U.S. top country album chart by a female artist. With her album “New Harvest...First Gathering” in 1977 and her holiday album “A Holly Dolly Christmas” in 2020, Parton maintained her dominance for an incredible 43 years and 156 days. Surpassing renowned artists like Reba McEntire and Shania Twain, she currently sits in third place, trailing only Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard.

Parton’s groundbreaking accomplishments don’t stop there. With a career spanning from 1967 to 2022, she has released an astonishing 65 studio albums, securing her position as the female country artist with the highest number of album releases. Her debut album, “Hello, Dolly,” marked the beginning of her remarkable journey, while her latest creation, “Run, Rose, Run,” released in 2022, showcases her enduring creativity. As fans eagerly await her forthcoming rock album, “Rockstar,” Parton’s album count is set to soar to an impressive 66, leaving an indelible legacy in the realm of music.

Additionally, Parton achieved the record for the most top-10 entries on the U.S. top country albums chart for a female singer. Her journey into the top 10 began in 1968 with the album “Just Between You and Me,” a collaboration with Porter Wagoner, which reached No. 8. With her 2022 album, “Diamonds & Rhinestones: The Greatest Hits Collection,” she achieved her 48th top-10 entry, solidifying her place in country music history.

With her latest accolades, Dolly Parton now holds an astonishing 10 Guinness World Records, further adding to her already impressive collection. Alongside her recent achievements, the country icon already possesses seven other remarkable records.

These include the most No. 1 hits on the U.S. hot country songs chart by a female artist and being the first country singer to receive nominations for an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT). Parton’s reign over the music industry remains unparalleled, solidifying her status as a true legend.
