‘Taqdeer’ set for Telugu remake as ‘Dayaa’

Chanchal Choudhury continues to receive immense praise and recognition in the film industry, not just for his remarkable performances in Bengali cinema but also for his contributions to various platforms. His exceptional acting skills have garnered him accolades in two highly popular Bengali web series.

One such web series is “Taqdeer,” directed by the talented Syed Ahmed Shawki, which has captivated audiences and received widespread acclaim. Chanchal Choudhury’s portrayal in the series has been lauded for its brilliance. Now, the time has come for the series to be remade in Telugu, with its release slated on the esteemed Disney+ Hotstar platform.

Confirming this exciting news, Chanchal Choudhury took to Facebook and wrote, “Monpura was remade as ‘Ochin Pakhi’ in Kolkata, and ‘Aynabaji’ was remade as ‘Gayatri’ in Telugu. And now, ‘Taqdeer’ is being remade as ‘Dayaa’ in Telugu. These achievements reflect the growth of our industry.”

Shree Venkatesh Films (SVF) is behind the Telugu adaptation of “Taqdeer,” marking their venture into Bengali content. They have chosen “Taqdeer” as their inaugural project, highlighting their commitment to producing quality regional content.

Hoichoi, a popular streaming platform, also joined in the excitement, sharing the news on their Twitter account. They announced, “Proud moment for us as the #hoichoiOriginal series #Taqdeer gets officially remade in Telugu!”

The director entrusted with the responsibility of helming the Telugu remake of “Taqdeer” is the talented Pavan Sadineni. According to information sourced from Disney Plus’ official page, the Telugu series will be titled “Dayaa.”

Disney Plus recently unveiled a captivating poster, featuring a hearse van reminiscent of the one in “Taqdeer,” signaling the involvement of the renowned actor JD Chakravarthy in portraying Chanchal Choudhury’s character. The actor has earned widespread recognition for his memorable role in Ram Gopal Varma’s film “Satya.”

In addition to JD Chakravarthy, the Telugu series “Dayaa” boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Eesha Rebba, Kamal Kamaraju, Remya Nambeesan, Josh Ravi, and Prithviraj. Audiences can eagerly anticipate the release of this series on Disney Plus Hotstar, scheduled for July 14th.
