‘Adipurush’ is one of the much-awaited films of 2023. It will be a modern retelling of the story of Ramayana. The film’s plot is about Raghava, the king of Ayodhya who travelled to the island of Lanka 7000 years ago. His sole objective was to save his wife Janaki, who Lankesh, the king of Lanka, had kidnapped.

More importantly, however, the story has become an indelible part of popular culture, with its characters and settings often becoming symbolic of a larger issue or theme.

‘Adipurush’ is backed by T-Series, Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles, Pramod and Vamsi of UV Creations. It is touted to be made on a budget of Rs450 crore. Originally shot in Hindi, it has been dubbed into Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
