Hansika reveals inequity faced by South actors

In a recent interview with an entertainment portal, actress Hansika Motwani shed light on the discrimination she experienced at the hands of certain Bollywood fashion designers. Hansika disclosed that a few years ago, these designers would refuse to provide her with clothes due to her primarily working in the south film industry, according to the Times of India.

According to Hansika, numerous designers used to dismiss her, saying, “Oh, no South actor, we don’t want to give you clothes.” However, she noted that there has been a noticeable change in their attitude over the past few years.

The actress shared that the same designers who once overlooked her are now approaching her and offering their clothes for trailer launches and other events. Recalling their words, she stated, “Oh, you have an event, you have a trailer launch, why don’t you wear us?” Hansika graciously accepted their offers.

Despite the initial discrimination, Hansika stated that she holds no grudges against them, emphasizing the need for differentiation between them and herself. She remained optimistic, saying, “I was like, they will come back, I will work really hard.” She added that those very designers are now eager to style and dress her, indicating that the lines are becoming blurred.
