10-day cultural festival of BSA ends

The curtain fell on the 10-day-long cultural festival orgnised by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) at the academy’s National Music and dance auditorium on Sunday.

Aiming to display our rich Bangladeshi heritage, BSA organized the festival which featured Pancha Kabir Gaan, patriotic songs, Baul songs, Film songs, Palagaan, Bhawaiya songs, and others.

The festival ends with the performance of Bhawaya songs on June 11. The programme began on June 1 with the performance of Pancha Kabir Gaan (songs of five poets-- Rabindranath, Nazrul, Rajnikant, Atul Prasad, and DL Roy). The second day of the programme featured patriotic songs, while the third day of the programme featured Baul song ‘Achin Pakhi’.

The fourth day of the programme featured Film songs, while the fifth day of the programme featured songs rendered by eminent singers Bulbul Mahalanobis, Akramul Islam, Saidur Rahman Boyati, Timir Nandi, Fatema Tuz Zohra, and Jayanta Chattopadhyay. The sixth and seventh-day programme featured Folk songs.

On the eighth and ninth day the event ‘Notun Jouboner Dut’ featured songs performed by child artists of BSA.
