Rozina’s directorial debut ‘Phire Dekha’ releases today

Rozina, the renowned actress, is set to make her directorial debut with the highly anticipated film “Phire Dekha,” which releases today. The movie is creating a buzz among movie enthusiasts as it hits theaters in Dhaka and various other locations.

Rozina herself has confirmed her presence in some cinema halls in Dhaka, where she plans to sit among the audience, witnessing the culmination of her hard work and enjoying her directorial venture.

Under her real name Rawshan Ara Ranu, Rozina not only directed “Phire Dekha” but also wrote the story, screenplay, and dialogues, with assistance from Mujtaba Saud. This showcases her multifaceted talents as a director. The film, which received government funding, features an impressive cast including Rozina, Ilias Kanchan, Nirob, Sproshia, and other talented actors.

Encouraging audiences to watch “Phire Dekha,” Rozina shared her thoughts, emphasising the significance of the movie. She stated, “While I have directed drama telefilms before, this is my first venture into directing a full-length feature film. Crafting a drama telefilm is not as challenging as building a story on a grand scale like a movie, especially one that revolves around the 1971 liberation war. Having personally witnessed the liberation war while growing up in Goalanda of Rajbari, I have incorporated my first-hand experiences into the film. I urge the youth of this generation to watch this film as it portrays the immense struggle and sacrifices that led to our hard-fought independence. I am immensely grateful to all the artists and crew members who have supported me throughout this project.”

Prior to “Phire Dekha,” Rozina’s production company successfully released the films “Jibondhara” and “Dolna.” The movie “Dolna,” directed by Shibli Shadik, is particularly cherished by audiences, with its immensely popular song “Tumi Amar Koto Chena,” written by Moniruzzaman Monir, composed by Alam Khan, and performed by Sabina Yasmin and Andrew Kishore.

Aside from her contributions to the film industry, Rozina has also made a lasting impact on her hometown, Goalanda Municipality. Inspired by her childhood memories, she recently constructed a magnificent mosque at a cost of Tk 2.5 crore. The Turkish-designed mosque, named “Dosh Gambuz Khadija Jame Mosque” in honor of her mother, was inaugurated on April 1 of the previous year after two years of construction, coinciding with Friday prayers.
