BTS’ Jimin sets Guinness World Record

South Korean superstar and member of BTS, Jimin has made history by achieving a Guinness World Record with his latest solo song, “Promise.” The track has become SoundCloud’s most popular song of all time, accumulating a staggering 327 million streams as of January 2023. Additionally, “Promise” also holds the record for being SoundCloud’s most streamed track within the first 24 hours, garnering an impressive 8.5 million plays, according to Hindustan Times.

SoundCloud, the renowned music streaming service, has secured its own place in the Guinness World Records. By January 2023, the platform boasted a vast catalog of over 300 million tracks, including licensed music and user-generated content. Since its official launch in October 2008, SoundCloud has played a pivotal role in propelling the careers of notable artists such as Chance the Rapper, Juice WRLD, and Post Malone. In fact, Post Malone’s breakthrough came after he uploaded his debut single, “White Iverson” (2015), to his SoundCloud profile, leading him to sign a deal with Republic Records.

The heartfelt achievement of Jimin and the outstanding success of “Promise” come as BTS celebrates their momentous 10-year musical journey. Comprising members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, the group has captivated global audiences with their talent and dedication.

On their 10th anniversary, Jimin took a moment to express his gratitude and said “I’ve told you ARMYs a few times already, it’s not easy to support and love someone and give them strength for no particular reason. That is why I am able to understand how happy we are. You, who made us feel this way, should feel overflowing happiness and receive love. You must. Understand? ARMY, whom I am always thankful to and love, let’s be happy for a long long time.”
