Producer can say whether ‘Surongo’ will be released in India or not: Rafi

A successful career spanning over 15 years in the television and web series industry, renowned Bangladeshi actor Afran Nisho is finally making his much-awaited transition to the silver screen. Nisho will be seen in the lead role of the upcoming film ‘Surongo’, directed by the talented director Raihan Rafi. The movie, which has already generated significant buzz, is scheduled for a grand release on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.

It is heard that the actor’s debut film will be released not only in Bangladesh, but also India. According to ‘Dhaka Tribune’, Kolkata too has seemingly caught wind of ‘Surongo’ as famous Indian director Sreejit Mukherjee said expressed his excitement for the film. He said, “Nisho’s breath-taking journey will begin with ‘Suranga’! Afran Nisho is coming to the cinema for the first time this Eid-ul-Azha! Raihan Rafi’s most awaited movie. Co-produced by Alpha-i and Chorki. See you in theatres.”

However, director Raihan Rafi did not say anything about the release of the film in West Bengal.

When asked about the possibility of releasing ‘Surongo’ in India, Raihan Rafi mentioned that the decision rests with the producer. He said, “I can’t really say that. My job is to make movies. I tried to make it well. Now where the producer will release it is up to him. So only the producer can say whether the film ‘Surongo’ will be released in India or not.”

‘Surongo’ has received the green light from the Censor Board, marking a major milestone for the film. Director Raihan Rafi expressed his excitement, stating, “This is undoubtedly good news for us. We are thrilled with the positive response. Although we haven’t received the official certificate yet, I will personally receive it on Sunday.”

Rafi further shared his gratitude on social media, announcing that ‘Surongo’ has received an uncut censor certificate, thanks to the commendations of the esteemed members of the censor board.

The movie has already captured the hearts of the audience with its captivating teaser, intriguing preview, and a highly anticipated item song featuring the talented actress Nusrat Faria.

The inclusion of Nusrat Faria in the film has sparked comparisons with renowned Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, further increasing the anticipation among fans. The item song is expected to add an extra flair to the already enticing storyline of ‘Surongo’.

As the release date approaches, audiences eagerly anticipate the surprises that await them in “Surongo.” Director Raihan Rafi teased, “There are many more surprises. I don’t want to say anything about that. Because, if you tell, there is no more surprise.”
