Renowned Indian media personality Karan Johar is set to receive a prestigious honor at the British parliament for his remarkable contributions to the global entertainment industry. With his diverse roles as a film director, producer, distributor, talk show host, talent show judge, and actor, Johar has left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment.

Having a special connection with the United Kingdom, Johar has filmed several of his iconic productions, including ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, across the country. Notably, his films ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ and ‘My Name Is Khan’ achieved unprecedented success, becoming the highest-grossing Indian films at the UK box office upon their release, according to Variety.

Recognizing his influence, Johar was appointed as a goodwill ambassador for ‘Visit Britain’ in 2012, spearheading a campaign to attract visitors to explore the nation’s beauty and culture. Through his production house, Dharma Productions, and Dharmatic Entertainment, he has backed numerous successful films, including ‘Sooryavanshi’, the Baahubali franchise, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’.

Adding to his repertoire, Johar’s popular celebrity talk show, ‘Koffee with Karan’ has captivated audiences since its launch in 2004, broadcasting on the Star network and later streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

This year marks Johar’s remarkable 25-year journey in the entertainment industry, a milestone that will be celebrated with the release of his upcoming film, ‘Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’. Starring acclaimed actors Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, the film is set to hit UK cinemas and worldwide screens on July 28, promising an exciting cinematic experience.
