Arnob & Friends working on new album

Popular Bangladeshi singer-songwriter-musician Shayan Chowdhury Arnob is currently working on a new album with his new ensemble of musical troupe Arnob & Friends.

The album is titled ‘Arnob & Friends 2’. But the names of the new performers for the album have yet to be disclosed. They will be introduced with the release of this album.

The songs are being arranged at the studios of Arnob and Buno. The eminent musicians are expecting to complete the work within next one to two months.

“We have started recording the songs at the studios of Buno and me. If everything goes as planned, I hope we will be able to complete the album by September to October this year. All other members of our current lineup are completely new. I don’t want to disclose any more about the new lineup. I didn’t work with them earlier,” Arnob told The Business Post.

Arnob will soon be seen in a musical film titled ‘Arnob: Adhkhana Valo Chele Adha Mostan’ directed by Abrar Athar. A total of 10 songs rendered by Arnob have been used in the film which will be released on OTT platform Chorki. Shot mostly in Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar, the film depicts Arnob’s musical journey and fragments of memories of various times. Sunidhi Nayak and Arnob & Friends have also collaborated with him in the musical film.

However, Arnob & Friends released their first and self-titled album in 2009.

Arnob got married to singer Sunidhi Nayak in Asansol, West Bengal on October 28 last year. The duo earlier collaborated for a duet song titled ‘Tobe Thak’ which was released under the banner of Gaanchill Music in 2019.

In June this year, ‘Dukkho Jodi Na Pabe To’, a Rabindra Sangeet rendition by Arnob, was released on his YouTube channel.
