Chanchal Chowdhury in ‘Karagar’

Syed Ahmed Shawki casts Chanchal Chowdhury for his upcoming web series ‘Karagar’. The shooting of this series will be started soon. Niyamtullah Masum has written the story and screenplay of ‘Karagar’.

Karagar will be a seven-episode web series. About the series and his character Chanchal Chowdhury said, “Little that I say, my character here is full of surprises. I don’t know if such stories have been told in Bangladesh before.”

The plot goes as a cell of a jail that has not been opened for almost 50 years. The cell has been closed for a long time since a prisoner committed suicide in that cell. But one morning a prisoner was found in the cell, claiming to be a prisoner of that cell and he was been imprisoned for 200 years! The story begins with the investigation of where the man came from and how he came there.

For now, it’s in the air that more than a hundred artistes will work in this series. The director did not want to reveal the names of others except Chanchal Chowdhury.

This will be Chanchal Chowdhury’s second project under Syed Ahmed Shawki direction. Earlier both of them worked together in a web series named ‘Takdir’ which was released in December 2020. ‘Takdir’ was highly praised in both Bengal. Chanchal was also highly praised by the audience at that time. Thus, this gives an expectation that Shawki will bring something amazing this time too.
