Chanchal’s birthday today

Today is the birthday of popular actor Chanchal Chowdhury. Critically acclaimed for his performances in films Monpura (2009), Aynabaji (2016), and Debi (2018), he has received two Bangladesh National Film Awards for Best Actor and three Meril Prothom Alo Awards for Best Actor.

Chanchal started his career in 1996 in the theaters of Bangladesh. He joined famous theaters such as Aranyak Natyadal and performed in stage plays like Prakritajaner Kotha, Joyjayanti, Ora Kadam Ali, Mayur Singhason, Songkranti, Rarang, and Che-er Cycle.

Chanchal was born in the Kamarhat village of Sujanagar Upazila of Pabna district. He grew up there. After completing HSC from Rajbari Government College, he was admitted to Dhaka University in fine arts. From an early age, he had a penchant for music, recitation, and drama. He made his debut in television in 2000 through the play ‘Grass’ directed by Faridur Rahman. In a short time, he gained a reputation as a skilled actor. Chanchal became known to the audience with Mostafa Sarwar Farooki’s drama ‘Tal Patar Sepai’.
