Coke Studio Bangla releases ‘Bulbuli’ paying tribute to Nazrul

After the success of previous songs ‘Nasek Nasek’ and ‘Prarthona’, Coke studio Bangla, has released its third song titled ‘Bulbuli’ sang by Rituraj Baidya and Sanzida Mahmood Nandita on April 14.

Paying tribute to national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, ‘Bulbuli’ was released. The song is produced by Shayan Chowdhury Arnob, while musical arrangement and composition of the music is done by Shuvendu Das Shuvo.

Kazi Nazrul Islam wrote and composed the Bangla Ghazal ‘Bagichay Bulbuli’.

Coke Studio Bangla fused a brief lyric penned by Syed Gousul Alam Shaon titled ‘Dol Dol Dol Diyeche’ with it, attempting to fuse Spanish tunes with the song.

The song has already garnered positive appreciation from the audience and received 453,985 views on Youtube until filling up the news.

The passionate song ‘Bulbuli’ is an expression of both the pain of separation and the beauty of love despite that pain. Kazi Nazrul Islam sets up a trope in garden where he writes about the relationship between a Bulbul, a songbird, and it’s beloved who is embodied as a flower.

To counter the verses that speak to the Bulbul, Syed Gousul Alam Shaon wrote the lyrics of Dol Dol Dol Diyeche that speak to the flower. The song sparks the magic of love and romance.

The band members of this song include - Imran Ahmed (Acoustic Guitar), Shuvendu Das Shuvo (Classical Guitar), Saadul Islam (Acoustic Guitar), Faizan Rashid Ahmed (Bass), Kabil Mia (Trumpet), Rahin Haider (Tenor Saxophone), Sayonton Mangsang (Alto Saxophone), Pantho Kanai (Drums), Mohammad Mokarram Hossain (Percussions), Mithun Chakraborty (Percussions), Mubarak Islam (Percussions), Pradyut Chatterjea (Piano and Synth).

The chorus of this song was sung by Karishma Shanu Sovvota, Rubayat Rehman, and Jannatul Firdous Akbar.

Coke Studio Bangla began its journey with the song ‘Nasek Nasek’, a Hajong fusion song, on February 23.
