‘Shaan’ is the story of unsung heroes: Siam

The much-anticipated police action thriller ‘Shaan’ starring Siam Ahmed, Puja Cherry and Taskeen Rahman is slated for release early next year.

The film is finally heading to theatres on January 7, ending a long wait for Siam who has several of his latest films lined up for release.

Announcing the release date of ‘Shaan’, production house Jaaz Multimedia also shared a brand-new official poster of the thriller on their verified Facebook page on Thursday.

After the success of ‘Poramon 2’ and ‘Dohon’, Siam and Puja will be seen together in ‘Shaan’.

Inspired by actual events, the film’s story revolves around the life of an honest police officer named Shaan.

Siam, who is playing ‘Shaan’ in the film, told The Business Post, “The film portrays the story of police officer Shaan who believes in the intelligence rather than muscle power. Shaan is the story of a man who protects the people of his country without expecting anything in return. This is the story of all the unsung heroes of our country.”

“I hope the audience will love our efforts,” said the actor.

‘Shaan’ marks the directorial debut for M Rahim, who earlier worked as an assistant director in Siam’s first two films, ’ Poramon 2’ and ‘Dohon’.

The story of ‘Shaan’ is written by the producer of the film Azad Khan. The screenplay and dialogues are co-written by Azad Khan and Nazim Ud Daula.

Abbas Ali Mughal of Bollywood directs the action sequences of ‘Shaan’. He has done stunts and action scenes in the movies like ‘Panther’, Bollywood’s ‘Hate Story 2, 3, 4’, ‘Dear Zindagi’, ‘MS Dhoni’, ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’, ‘Aashiqui 2’, ‘Agneepath’, ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’.

Recalling his shooting experience under Abbas’ guidance, Siam said, “It is a great pleasure and honour to work with such a brilliant action director in my first action film. He motivated and inspired me so much that I can never forget. He used to call me his ‘Beta’ during the shooting. He gave me so much love because of my efforts to learn the action stunts. He said to me, ‘Those who try, will never lose’. I will always remember his words”.

‘Shaan’ also features Champa, Aruna Biswas, Syed Hasan Imam and Misha Sawdagar, among others. With this movie, Champa and Aruna are collaborating after 22 years.
