Shomi turns another year older

Actress Shomi Kaiser is celebrating her birthday today. Her fans, friends, and well-wishers from around the world have sent congratulatory messages to the actress as she turns another year older.

“I enjoy the fact that everyone remembers me on my birthday. It is a matter of joy for me. Actually, I’ve spent this day with my family members for the past few years. I’ll be in my office today. My mother will be visiting me at my place. We might have dinner outside at a restaurant. That’s the plan actually nothing much. I’ll ask all to keep me in their prayers,” said Shomi Kaiser.

The actress last appeared on screen in 2018 with the drama ‘Sare Teenkhana Chithi’ directed by Chayanika Chowdhury.

Shomi Kaiser debuted with the play ‘Keba Apon Keba Por’ in 1989. The play was directed by Atiqul Haque Chowdhury. After that, she worked on three episodes play Joto Durey Jai, based on a novel by Imdadul Haque Milon, directed by Abdullah al Mamun and got the breakthrough.

Shomi Kaiser worked for Dhaka Theatre for 12 years. She played Haat Hodai with co-actor Shahiduzzaman Selim.

She also appeared in movies like Lalon (2004) and Hason Raja. She was featured in another film, The Name of a River (2002), based on the biography of filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak. ‘Naksatrer Raat’, ‘Choto Choto Dheu’, ‘Akashe Onek Raat’, ‘Mukti’ are some famous dramas acted by her.
