Siam reunites with Jaaz for ‘Rasta’

Dhallywood actor Siam Ahmed is joining hands with Jaaz Multimedia once again for a new film titled ‘Rasta’, around three years after the actor made his debut in Dhallywood with the film ‘Poramon 2’, under the banner of Jaaz in 2018.

His second film ‘Dohon’ came out in the same year from the same production company.

‘Rasta’ will be directed by Raihan Rafi who directed Siam in three movies — ‘Poramon 2’, ‘Dohon’ and ‘Damal’.

“’Poramon 2’ and ‘Dohon’ teams are together again, with the film ‘Rasta’. Jaaz, Raihan Rafi and Siam are reunited,” Jaaz wrote on their verified Facebook page.

Talking to The Business Post on Thursday, Siam confirmed that he has signed up for ‘Rasta’ on October 19.

“My first two films were produced by Jaaz Multimedia. They have brought me in films. Aziz bhai (Jaaz chairman), Raihan Rafi, Puja Cherry, DOP Shaheen bhai … and the entire team, with whom I had worked at first are so special to me in my life. If I can honour them in my way, I will love it,” he said.

As ‘Rasta’ marks Siam’s fourth collaboration with director Rafi, the actor said, “To be very honest, he is not merely a director to me . I was very young, he was the same, and we started working together in the beginning”.

“The relationship between us has become more of brotherly, not restricted to an artiste-director understanding,” added Siam.

The actor said that he feels at ease while working under the direction of Rafi.

“During the shooting, he knows it very well how I would like to do it — whether I need some moments before any scene or not and whether I need to be left alone. During our last film, we didn’t even require to talk in some sequences as simple eye contacts were enough. We have reached such a level of understanding,” added Siam.

The actor declined to reveal his character and the story of ‘Rasta’ for now.

Talking about his films and the roles he has been playing, Siam said that he has been constantly working on himself to explore more.

“Every day, I feel the urge to do something very new. I don’t want that all the characters I act get the same impression. At least I try it,” he said.

“Truly speaking, in some cases, I feel that I need 10-20 days more to work on the character. But we have limitations. The units have to maintain their deadline. If I get the opportunity, every day I try to do something different,” added Siam.

Siam is currently awaiting the release of several of his films like ‘Shaan’, ‘Paap Punno’, ‘Operation Sundarban’, ‘Adventure of Sundarban’, ‘Damal’ and ‘Mridha vs Mridha’ which were delayed by the pandemic.

He said that his characters and storylines in these films are very different from each other.

“To be honest, I have been waiting for so long for the releases. These need to come out, otherwise, I cannot get the audience’s feedback. Their feedback will help me in the coming days,” Siam added.
