Prince to join Tigers in NZ series

Ashwell Prince will rejoin Bangladesh as the batting coach in their New Zealand series starting in September, Cricket Operations Chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board Akram Khan confirmed on Sunday.

Prince served as the Tigers’ batting coach in their Zimbabwe tour but did not join them in their Australia series at home as his contract was only for the Zimbabwe tour.

Akram said that all the paperwork was done and Prince would hopefully join the team in the New Zealand series.

“Almost everything is done (regarding Prince’s) contract. Hopefully he will be with us in the New Zealand series,” Akram said.

He also said that the players involved in the twenty20 international series against Australia will be given a two-week rest from August 10 to August 23.

The former skipper also added that the bio-security protocols in the New Zealand series will pretty much be the same as the Australia series. –TBP
