Shakib nominated for ICC award

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month for July, with Mitchel Marsh from Australia and Hayden Walsh Jr from West Indies, International Cricket Council said in a press release on Sunday. 

Shakib received the nomination for his stellar performance during the Zimbabwe tour across all formats whereas Mitchell Marsh and Hayden Walsh Jr received a nomination for their performance during Australia’s West Indies tour.

The experienced star all-rounder contributed to all three formats of the game as Bangladesh won the series against Zimbabwe last month. Shakib Al Hasan scored 96 unbeaten runs as Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by three wickets in the second ODI at the Harare Sports Club. In the T20Is, Shakib took three wickets with an economy rate of seven, leading his country to a series win against Zimbabwe.

The winners will be declared on the second Monday of the month. –TBP
