Two observers from New Zealand Cricket have arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday to assess the security and bio-security protocols, said Bangladesh Cricket Board physician Debashish Chowdhury.
The Blackcaps are scheduled to arrive on August 24 in Dhaka after departing from New Zealand on August 23 to play five twenty20 internationals against Bangladesh.
Debashish told The Business Post that two observers from NZC have already arrived in Dhaka.
“Two observers from New Zealand have come to Dhaka. One of them is Andrew Love, who is the Covid Officer. Another one is security Manager Terry Minish,” said the BCB medical officer.
Debashish also said that two of the cricketers from the New Zealand squad will come to Bangladesh a couple of days earlier than the others.
“Two cricketers are coming early. They will arrive on 22nd August,” he said.
These two cricketers are top-order batsman Finn Allen and all-rounder Colin De Grandhomme who are playing in `the hundred’ in England.
Allen is playing for Birmingham Phoenix, while Grandhomme is playing for Southern Brave.
Both Brave and Phoneix are the top two teams on the point table and are strong contenders for the final that will take place on August 21 at Lord’s.
The series between Bangladesh and New Zealand will start on September 1 and the remaining matches will be held on September 3, 5, 7 and 9.
