Shakib replaced by Green in CPL

Shakib Al Hasan is replaced by Chris Green in the Caribbean Premier League team Jamaica Tallawahs for the 2021 edition that begins on August 26.

“Shakib won’t be at CPL this year”, the media manager of CPL, Peter Muller, informed The Business Post.

The all-rounder from Bangladesh was picked during the draft in May when the New Zealand cricket team tour of Bangladesh was yet to be decided amid the pandemic situation.

But the Bangladesh Cricket Board has shown great skills to manage the bio-secure bubble by hosting the Australia cricket team that encouraged the New Zealand Cricket board to stick to their commitment of visiting Bangladesh for a five-match twenty20 international series.

Bangladesh will play a five-match T20I series against New Zealand starting from September 1, and that made Shakib unavailable for the CPL of this year, a tournament where the allrounder has won the trophy with the Jamaica team in 2016.

Jamaica picked Chris Green, a South Africa born bowling all-rounder who is a busy customer in the world of franchise cricket league.
