Bangladesh women’s cricket team will play three One-Day Internationals against Zimbabwe women’s team ahead of the Women’s World Cup Qualifier that will take place in Zimbabwe from November 21 to December 5.
The Chairman of the Women’s wing at Bangladesh Cricket Board, Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, told The Business Post that the women’s cricket team will reach Zimbabwe a month before the qualifying tournament and will play three ODI matches against the hosts.
“The team will reach Zimbabwe one month before the qualifying tournament. There we will play three ODI matches against Zimbabwe. We are also in talks with two other boards at this moment for a bilateral series at home before going, probably Sri Lanka will come, but this is not confirmed yet,” said Nadel.
The Qualifier will be a 10-team tournament that will decide the three qualifiers for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 in New Zealand.
Nadel told TBP that the women cricketers have already begun training at BKSP and will play a triangular series before leaving Dhaka for Harare.
“Our team has already started training at BKSP. After the training camp, they will play a triangular tournament which will also involve age level cricketers,” he said.
