Blackcaps beware of Tigers after Australia series

New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra is beware of Bangladesh after the Tigers’ 4-1 series win over Australia as the Blackcaps are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka for their five-match twenty20 international series today.

New Zealand are scheduled to land in Dhaka at 12:05 pm today via a Singapore Airlines flight. The members of the squad will directly move to Hotel Intercontinental through the VIP terminal and the immigration process will be managed by an official from New Zealand Cricket.

They will be in isolation for three days before starting practice at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Two members of the squad, Colin de Grandhomme and Finn Allen arrived in Dhaka on August 20 as they flew in after playing in ‘The 100’ in England.

Ravindra, who played in the 2016 Under-19 World Cup hosted by Bangladesh, said that they will have to play with a different game plan in Bangladesh.

“Watching the series against Australia and seeing the contrasting conditions from a normal T20 here (in New Zealand), the par score over there is probably 130-140 so it will be a different game plan but it’s exciting to adapt and learn over there,” the left-handed all-rounder said.

New Zealand are coming to Bangladesh with a second-string side as none of the players from their T20 World Cup squad has been included in the tour.

The five-match series between Bangladesh and New Zealand will start on September 1 followed by matches on September 3, 5, 7 and 9.
