A new season of the National Cricket League, country’s top-flight first-class cricket tournament, will start from October 15, a Bangladesh Cricket Board official confirmed.
Arifur Rahman, the tournament committee manager at the BCB, told The Business Post that a fresh season will start from October 15 which means the two matches played in March and April this year will be dismissed.
“According to our cricket calendar, we are set to start the new season of National Cricket League on
October 15. It will be a fresh start as we have paid cricketers for their last season,” said Arif.
There is another franchise-based first-class cricket tournament called Bangladesh Cricket League, which is scheduled to start from the first week of December, he added.
NCL this year began on March 22, and after only two rounds of matches, the tournament was put on hold due to the second wave of coronavirus outbreak. – TBP
