South African batsman Faf Du Plessis congratulated Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan on Twitter for being player of the series against Australia but tagged the wrong profile of Shakib.
Bangladesh beat Australia 4-1 in a five-match twenty20 international series earlier this month and Shakib was the player of the series with 114 runs and seven wickets.
“Hey @OfficialShakib, Congrats on beating Oz and being named the Man of the Series! Always a great Moment! Hope you are not angry anymore,” Du Plessis wrote.
The Protea batsman tagged a fake profile of Shakib as the username of Shakib’s official account is @sah75official with 1.9 million followers. The profile tagged by Du Plessis has only three followers.
Du Plessis promptly deleted the tweet as other users mentioned that he had tagged the wrong account and posted a tweet shortly after mentioning Shakib’s original account.
