Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman have submitted their applications to the Bangladesh Cricket Board for No Objection Certificate to take part in the remaining part of the Indian Premier League, said cricket operations chief Akram Khan.
“Mustafiz applied for the NOC a few days ago, Shakib also applied yesterday (Saturday). We will decide on September 1,” he told reporters in Mirpur.
It is unlikely for the BCB to turn down the application, hinted Akram.
“It’s a big opportunity for us that our players will play in a high standard tournament like IPL ahead of the T20 World Cup, in the same venues where the World Cup will take place. The board is positive regarding the NOC”, said the former captain.
Akram also told the media that Tamim Iqbal, who did not play a Twenty20 International for Bangladesh since March 2020, is still on BCB’s plan.
“The physios are working regarding the injury concerns. If he becomes fit then Tamim being a proven cricketer would be considered. It will be good for us if he gets fit,” he said.
