Indian Test team’s coaching panel was sent to isolation after their head coach Ravi Shastri was found Covid-19 positive during the fourth Test against England at the Oval.

A statement from the BCCI said, “The BCCI Medical Team has isolated Mr Ravi Shastri, Head Coach, Mr B. Arun, Bowling Coach, Mr R. Sridhar, Fielding Coach and Mr Nitin Patel, Physiotherapist as a precautionary measure after Mr Shastri’s lateral flow test returned positive last evening. They have undergone RT-PCR testing and shall remain in the team hotel and not travel with Team India until confirmation from the medical team”.

Despite the Indian team’s head coach being covid-19 positive, the fourth day’s play of Oval Test started in due time as the rest of the team members went through two covid-19 tests where they returned negative. – TBP
