Junior Tigers go 2-0 ahead against Afghans

Bangladesh Under-19 team defeated their Afghan counterparts by three wickets in the second youth one-day international of the five-match series at Sylhet on Sunday.

Afghanistan U-19 team captain Izaj Ahmed won the toss and elected to bat first but his teammates could not help him with a formidable total as they were all-out for only 101 runs in 42.3 overs.

Left-arm spinner Naimur Rahman picked four wickets for only 14 runs while right-arm medium pacer Golam Kibria took two wickets.

Chasing a small total, the junior Tigers also struggled but finally managed to reach the target despite some turbulence from the Afghan spinners.

Left-arm spinner Shahidullah Hasani took three wickets and leg-spinner Izharul haq Naveed took four wickets but eventually Bangladesh youth team managed to score 102 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 23.1 overs. – TBP
