Former Pakistan batsman Ramiz Raja was appointed as the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Chairman after an unopposed election on Monday.
As his first action as the PCB chief, Raja appointed former Australia batsman Matthew Hayden and former South Africa seamer Vernon Philander as coaches for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Hayden and Philander have been brought in to replace Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis, who resigned from their posts as head coach and bowling coach earlier this month.
The roles of Hayden and Philander are yet to be specified, and Raja informed that a head coach will be appointed to work alongside them, but did not reveal a name. – TBP
