Three former captains to face ballot

Three former captains of the Bangladesh national team will be facing ballot in the upcoming election of the Bangladesh Cricket Board as only Showkat Aziz Russell has withdrawn his nomination.

The election commission of the BCB has disclosed the final candidate list for the election that will take place on October 6.

In category one, for the two posts of director from the Dhaka division, there are four contestants, including former captain Naimur Rahman, a parliament member from Manikganj-1. The other three contestants are Tanvir Ahmed Titu from Narayanganj, Syed Ashfakul Islam Titu from Kishorgonj and Khalid Hossain from Madaripur district.

In the same category, Khaled Mashud Pilot will be facing Saiful Alam Chowdhury Shawpan to be the representative from Rajshahi division.

There is only a spot for regional and district association from the Rajshahi division where Mashud is contesting from the Rajshahi division while Shwapan is coming from Pabna district.

In category three, Khaled Mahmud Sujan will be facing Nazmul Abedeen Fahim for one directorship among the representatives from educational institutions and former cricketers.

Mahmud is the current chairman of the game development wing of the BCB, and Fahim is the mentor of many cricketers, including Shakib Al Hasan, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim.
