Bangladesh left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for September after his brilliant performances against New Zealand at home.
Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane and USA’s Jaskaran Malhotra have been nominated along with Nasum. In the Women’s Player of the Month category, England’s Charlie Dean and her compatriot Heather Knight as well as Lizelle Lee from South Africa have been nominated.
Nasum played five Twenty20 internationals against New Zealand in September where he picked up eight wickets, helping Bangladesh to their first-ever T20I series win over the Blackcaps. The left-arm spinner from Sylhet also picked up his career-best figures of 4-10 in the series, a match where he became the first bowler from a full member nation to bowl two maidens in the a T20I.– TBP
