Bangladesh national cricket team’s flight to UAE from Oman for their two warm-up games ahead of the T20 World Cup might get delayed a day, informed national selector Habibul Bashar.
Bangladesh, who reached Oman for World Cup preparations on October 4, are scheduled to fly to UAE on Saturday and play warm-up games against Sri Lanka and Ireland on October 12 and 14.
But Bashar, currently with the team, said on Thursday that the flight might get delayed by a day.
“We were supposed to go to UAE on October 9 where we will play two warm-up matches. But there are some uncertainties regarding that. If we can’t go on Saturday, we will go there the next day. Hopefully, we will reach in time for the practice matches,” he said on Thursday.
Bangladesh are currently acclimatising in Oman, where they will play their matches of the preliminary round, starting from October 7. The Tigers will also play a practice match against the Oman A team on Friday.
Bashar said that it was a good decision to come to Oman early because it let them adapt to the conditions there.
“I think it’s good that we came to Oman early. We are getting accustomed to the conditions here. Everything here feels good till now,” Bashar added.
