Mustafiz to join Tigers in UAE

Mustafizur Rahman will join the Bangladesh national team in the UAE after his bittersweet stint with Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League.

The left-arm pacer finished the campaign with 14 wickets from an equal number of matches for Rajasthan, which is just three short of his first IPL outing. But unfortunately, Mustafiz’s team did not perform that well as Rajasthan failed to make it to the playoffs. They finished seventh out of the eight teams with 10 points from five wins.

Rajasthan made the most out of the Fizz, whom they purchased for only one crore rupees in the auction as Mustafiz appeared for all the 14 matches for the franchise.

Though he had a very impressive start, the last three matches were pretty ordinary for Mustafiz as he conceded 114 runs but picked up only one wicket.

The next auction of IPL will be a mega one as two more franchises will be added. All the existing franchises can retain up to four players with an option of a maximum of two foreign cricketers. Mustafiz’s performance for Rajasthan might interest the franchise to retain him for the next season as he was one of their best players in the 2021 season.

After the IPL, Mustafiz will join the Tigers in UAE, where the Tigers will reach from Oman to play two warm-up matches.
