Shadman hoping for WC glory

Bangladesh opening batsman Shadman Islam is hoping for Bangladesh to go all the way in the upcoming T20 World Cup in UAE and Oman.

Shadman, recently appointed as the skipper of National Cricket League side Dhaka Metro, told reporters on Monday that he always hopes that Bangladesh will be champions.

“I always say that Bangladesh will play for the Championship. I always want us to become Champions. The team that we have, I am hoping that we will have good results.

“The way everyone has prepared, hopefully, everyone will perform well and gift the country something good,” the opener said.

The NCL will start on October 17 and Shadman said that he was hoping his team will do well.

“We have Abu Hider Rony, who always performs well. We also have some new players from the High-Performance and Under-19 sides. They will definitely try to do well. Marshall Ayub and Sohrawardi Shuvo also perform consistently with the bat. Hopefully, we will do well this time around too,” he said.
