Australia skipper Aaron Finch said that he had no issues with David Warner’s preparation ahead of the T20 World Cup in UAE and Oman, adding that the left-handed opener was a fighter.
Warner had a torrid Indian Premier League campaign as he scored 195 runs from eight innings and was stripped of the captaincy by Sunrisers Hyderabad. After scoring just two runs in two innings after the IPL resumed in UAE, Warner was dropped from the XI, and soon after, he left the team hotel.
Despite his lack of ideal preparation, Finch said that the 34-year-old opener would play from Ausssies’ very first match against South Africa on October 23.
“He’s organising things behind the scenes, he’s doing everything that he loves to do. I’ve got no issues and come game one he’ll be ready to go,” the Aussie skipper said.
Finch also added that Warner was a fighter and that he had joined the Australia side in great spirits and was boosting the team morale.
“We’ve seen when he’s (Warner) got his back against the wall, he’s a fighter. I’ve got no issues with the preparation he’s had. He’s come here in great spirits, he’s come here with a great attitude and that’s rubbing off on the boys,” he said.
