The Bangladesh Football Federation has announced a 24-member preliminary squad for the upcoming four-nations football tournament in Sri Lanka, slated to start from November 8.
Apart from the hosts, three invited teams will take part in this friendly tournament.
The teams are Bangladesh, Maldives and Seychelles.
BFF have appointed Mario Lemos, the coach of Abahani Limited, as the coach of the national team for this tournament.
Announcing the preliminary team on Monday, the BFF asked the 24 players to report to the team manager at a city hotel by 5:00pm Tuesday.
All the footballers who were in the national team squad during the SAFF Championship are included in the preliminary squad.
Along with them, six new players — Sushanto Tripura, Yeasin Khan, Masuk Mia Zoni, Obidur Rahman Nawbab, Mehidi Hasan and Mehidi Hasan Royel — are also called in.
Six footballers — Tutul Hossain Badsha, Yeasin Arafat, Rahmat Mia, Riadul Hasan Rafi, Mohammad Ridoy and Mahbubur Rahman Sufil — who are now representing Bangladesh under-23 team in the AFC Asian U-23 cup qualifier and currently in Uzbekistan will join the national team in Sri Lanka.
Yousuf Haque, a British- Bangladeshi footballer who is playing for the age level team of English League One team Ipswich town, has been called in for the Bangladesh U-23 team and he might also get a chance in the national team if he can prove him in Uzbekistan.
