Bangladesh Under-23 football team will face Kuwait in their first match of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers at JAR Stadium, Tashkent today. The match will start at 3 PM local time.
Ahead of the first match of Group D, the Bangladesh U-23 team had their practice session at the Bunyodkor FC Academy Training Ground on Tuesday.
Bangladesh coach Maruful Haque is hopeful about winning against Kuwait as there are some players from the recently concluded SAFF Championship squad.
Rahmat Mia, Tutul Hossain Badsha, Yeasin Arafat, Saad Uddin, Mahbubur Rahman Sufil, are the few players along with the UK born Bangladeshi origin midfielder Yousuf Haque who can show some spectacles against Kuwait.
Coach Maruful Haque said that his team is well prepared despite some shortcomings
“We are well prepared though shortcomings will be there. Our opposition is higher ranked team than us. We have our strategy, hopefully, the team will play well,” he told in the press conference on Tuesday.
Kuwait national team has a FIFA ranking of 142 where Bangladesh is ranked 187 in the latest update.
