Bangladesh to depart for Sri Lanka today

Bangladesh national football team will depart for Sri Lanka today to take part in the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksha trophy in Sri Lanka.

In this four-nation invitational tournament, the other three participants are hosts Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Seychelles.

BFF announced the 23-man team for Rajapaksha Trophy on Thursday.

Seven footballers, who were part of the Under-23 team, and five officials reached Sri Lanka on Thursday.

In the opening match, Bangladesh will play against Seychelles on November 8.

On November 11, Bangladesh will face Maldives, and on November 14 Bangladesh will play against hosts Sri Lanka.

The top two teams of this four-nation tournament will proceed to the final that will take place on November 18.

Coach of Abahani Limited Mario Lemos has been appointed as the head coach of the Bangladesh team.
