Bangladesh Police come second

Bangladesh Police ended as runners-up in the Asian Club Cup Hybrid Chess Championship organised by Asian Chess Federation and Iran Chess Federation as the Iranian Pyramid team became the champions.

The Bangladesh Police team were runners-up with 16 match points out of 9 matches, the same number of points as the Iranian pyramid team. But the Bangladeshi contingent missed out on game points where the Iranians were ahead.

The Iranian Pyramid team had 45.5 game points, whereas Bangladesh Police had 44 game points.

Bangladesh Police defeated the champions Iranian Pyramid team by 4.5-1.5 game points in the fourth round but unfortunately lost to the Chess Hub of Singapore by 2.5-3.5 game points in the fifth-round match, leading to them missing out on the championship.

In the ninth and final round of the tournament on Thursday, Bangladesh Police defeated Lion City Chess Meetup of Singapore by 6-0 game points.
