Pakistan cricket team cleared their stand about the use of the national flag during the practice sessions, which created much controversy in Bangladesh.
Pakistan team placed their national flag in the Bangladesh Cricket Board Academy Ground during training sessions and that has sparked many controversies. The State Minister for Information, Murad Hasan, told the media that they should be sent back with their flags.
“I have nothing to say about the players on the Pakistan team, But we can’t accept them hoisting the Pakistan flag during practice sessions. Especially at a time when we’re celebrating the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, when we’re celebrating the golden jubilee of our independence. I believe they should be sent back along with their flag,” Murad told reporters on Tuesday.
The question about the use of the flag during the training session was asked to Pakistan captain Babar Azam, but the Media Manager Ibrahim Badees answered on his behalf.
“We have said it before that after Saqlain Mushtaq came in as the coach, his coaching philosophy is to put a national flag in the ground so that the players can feel motivated and inspired. We have been doing this since Saqlain joined the Pakistan team. We did that in New Zealand, also in the World Cup and now we are also doing this here,” said Badees.
